Even when I could get it to compile cleanly it was dumping out constantly without warning. Or in my case, I am sharing a USB to Serial device across the network for UPS monitoring (it really works!).įor this project I started off trying to use the open source usbip project ( ) but it was *FAR* too buggy for me. For example - you could plug in a webcam, and then view that webcam on a remote PC. I have finally worked the kinks out and succeeded, and I am ready to share some information for anyone else that would like to try this.īasically, this will allow you (within reason) to share any USB device you want from your Raspberry Pi to another Linux host. I have spent countless hours trying to share a USB device over the network using my RPi as the "server" (hosting the USB device). ![]()
